RAISED STRIPE PULLOVER

SIZES: 
  12 months (18 months, 24 months)
  Body Chest Size:    20" (21", 22")
  Blocked Chest Size: 23" (24.5", 27")

MATERIALS: 
   Knitting Worsted Yarn --
       3 (4, 4) 50 gr. balls A
       1 (2, 2) 50 gr. balls B
       2 (3, 3) 50 gr. balls C
  #4 & #6 Knitting Needles

Gauge:  20 sts & 25 rows = 4" 
                (st st, #6 needles)

RAISED STRIPE PATTERN: 
    Work 4 rows st st in A, 2 rows garter st in B, 4 rows st st in A, 4 rows st st in C, 2 rows
    garter st in B, 4 rows st st
in C.  Repeat sequence of rows/colors for pattern.

PULLOVER: 
Back:  Beg @ lower edge with #4 needles & A, cast on 57 (61, 67) sts.  Work in K1, P1 rib for
          1.25" (1.5", 1.5").  Change to #6 needles & Raised Stripe Pattern until piece measures
          8" (8.25", 8.75") from start.  Place marker at both ends for armholes.  Piece should
          measure 11.5" (12.25", 13.5") wide.  Continue until piece measures 11.5" (11.75", 13")
          from start.  Change to #4 needles & A. Work in K1, P1 rib for 1.25" (1.5", 1.5").  
          Bind off loosely in rib.

Front:  Work as for back until piece measures 11.5" (11.75", 13") from start.  Change to #4
           needles & A.  Work in rib as on back for 4 (6, 6) rows.

Neck:  Rib 14 (15, 18) sts, join another strand of yarn, bind off center 29 (31, 31) sts, finish
          row.  Working both sides at once, work until rib measures 1.25" (1.5", 1.5").    Bind off
          14 (15, 18) sts each side.

Sleeves:  Beginning @ lower edge, with #4 needles & A, cast on32 (34, 26) sts. Work in K1, P1
              rib for 1.5" (1.25", 1.5"), end R.S.  Next row:  P, inc 19 (21, 25) sts evenly spaced
              across row -- 51 (55, 61) sts.  Change to #6 needles & work in Raised Striped
              Pattern until piece measures 7.5" (8.5", 9.25") from start.  Bind off.

FINISHING:  Sew shoulder seams for 2.25" (2.5", 3").  Sew sleeves into armholes.  Sew side &
                  sleeve seams.
